Did this diet about 10 years ago. I could only manage to stay on it for about 3 1/2 weeks. I lost 20 pounds from 205 down to 185. One important fact that no one ever mentions is that between the beans and vegetables, coupled with zero starch, the net carbs are extremely low because this diet is high fiber. I don’t think it’s sustainable over the long term because it is extremely boring for the average joe, but if you want to lose 20 to 25 pounds really fast within 30 days, then this is your ticket. Another caveat: due to the high fiber and water consumption, you will rid your body of “electrolytes”; you’ll need to supplement with sodium chloride &potassium otherwise, you will tend to cramp up if you’re an athlete.

The UK already has this I live in London & I get UBI & housing benefits & cost of living pay bumps.....but I also work & earn my own money doing what I want to do & I enjoy. it.. Cost of living is high in London so it's a good safety net & security to have the basics covered with no stress & worry. UBI is also proving to be a wealth builder & a cash cow for me as well I have quite a savings. Also England doesn't have a horrible homeless crisis like in the US. So I'd say it works & with increasing automation robots replacing humans it could be the new world order to a Utopia. Change is inevitable just as the industrial revolution changed America a century ago.

I just started this and I am doing eggs, spinach, and lentils for breakfast. I’m doing black beans or refried beans, boiled chicken shredded up, and green beans or green peas for lunch and dinner. I have not been hungry. In fact, I’m forcing myself to eat all of that. It’s very filling. I’m hoping this works for me. I need to drop 35ish lbs.

We need UBI, but after hearing about your medical costs for your family especially your son...im more convinced we need a Universal Healthcare system too

In my country Liechtenstein we have a form of universal welfare that you can get even if you have other means of income, it's 981€ (1135$) per month and it doesn't make people lazy but more productive in that they can focus on real projects instead of scrambling for money. Most people tho still choose to hike a salaried position because they arent the entrepreneur type but others have time to build companies or freelance or invest. All in all it has been a very good thing for everyone since its implémentation in 2003, even the successive governments have all said so. Now we are a tiny country but I'm sure that this could work in bigger countries and it would even be cheaper than any form of existing welfare if the system is automated because there won't be a need to build expensive offices for social workers, no administrative hell, it will be a streamlined computer automated process.

My concern with UBI is who the money goes too. Some can handle it and use the money wisely, but there are few that will literally just throw it away knowing they will get it back next month. It depends on the age too.

What would YOU do with UBI? Most people worry that the choices other people make would be somehow bad or wrong. What if you made your own choices?

I agree wholeheartedly with him that it was awkward and uncomfortable but kinda points out a defining principle of the United States, we have a civilian lead military. Ubi won't end working as there are people who always want more or they are good at their job etc. but there are those who are disabled, autistic, asperger who are not able to do much work or just under very specific condition so ubi would provide some security for them it is not our fault to born with a disability...or to become disabled or unemployed...humanity has the intelligence to create good things :)

Thinking harder I have used Vaseline on my back and joints. It worked for me. I rub it into my shoulders and elbows and knees and lower back. I do it in the morning before work. It's immediate.I used to do drywalling and ruined my shoulders but after only a few days of rubbing in the Vaseline sometimes twice a day the results are unbelievable. My son suffers from PTSD after serving in Afghanistan. He gets monthly disability checks for his condition. It's difficult for veterans to find jobs that have medical issues, there is also a period of adjustment that comes from serving in the armed forces to civilian life for some. He seems to have found purpose in his life by training to care for people with medical issues by providing home care assistance to those with special needs. I think given the opportunity a little extra cash would provide a small cushion of opportunity to help people to better their lives as well as others. That may not be the case of everybody but I know many like my son have and would benefit from it..so from an old veteran, Thanks for your service!😎

I have a 70-100% tax rate that keeps getting worse while I have to pay for all my own healthcare ontop. Do the people getting ubi care where the money is going to come from...? Do they think they will charge it to the rich, or middle class? Hasn't happened where I live yet. In fact they brag they are using crimes against humanity (illegal laws) to keep them poor to benefit themselves. And of course our army does not enforce crimes against humanity laws because they are engaged in it and simple physics says you cannot do the two things at once. Let me guess... they want a program without a thought to how it will be paid? That's how things got so bad in the first place.

I live in a 505ft^2 apartment mile away from the city center with my spouse. My rent is $781 a month. If I recieved a $1300( $2600 combined) I wouldn't work for the rest of my life. Let the tools work while I live like a king.

Whats crazy is we can afford 2000 a month for all adults. Just combine the Welfare System with SS and eliminate major deductions in the tax code. We can afford 24,000 dollars per adult in this country. One Universal Social Program that includes all Americans and treats everyone with dignity and equally.
